It is reported that Mr Tillerson will arrive in Bangkok on Tuesday after attending Asean meetings as a dialogue partner in Manila over the weekend. His planned trip to Bangkok follows that of Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop who is to meet Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha today. But Mr Tillerson's planned visit has altered the situation. There is a possibility that the visit schedule could be settled during Mr Tillerson's visit next week. But Gen Prayut and those at the MFA should be well aware of Washington's possible demands for Thailand's support for its security plan.
